I had such a wonderful time backpacking at Appalachian trial in Georgia a week ago with the true adventures group. We had wonderful sunny weather and pour rainy days while hiking. It is so amazing we worked together as a team and finished 32 miles of hiking with our heavy backpacks. Not only I enjoyed the green nature along the trial, I also enjoyed getting to know the amazing friends. We made hot meal using freeze dried food, we set up camp fire, set up the tent weather in sunny or rainy days and we shared our stories. We had group member will be travelling the Asia for next 4-6 months. We met a Japanese couple who came to their honey moon to hike through the entire Appalachian trial. They are estimating spending about 6 months time on the trial. One German guy on the trial had been travelling the world for the last 3 years. I was impressed with everyone's fascinating stories on the way.
Now back to my daily life. It am also enjoying my nice home and and possibility of making different kinds of meal in my kitchen. Here comes a simple breakfast recipe.
Serving: 2
Ingredients
1/3 cup Ferina hot wheat cereal (from Trader Joe's, in package)
2 cups water
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp chopped almond
1 tbsp raisin
1 tbsp sun flower seeds
1 tbsp milk
some honey
Instructions
1. Boil the water in a pot
2. Add Ferina enriched cereal and salt slowly, stir constantly
3. Reduce heat to low, simmer uncovered for 2 min or until the cereal thickens, stir occasionally
4. Place cooked Firina in the serving bowl
5. Add milk, almond, sun flower seeds, raisins on top
6. Warm up with microwave for 15 min
7. Sprinkle some money on top
8. Serve hot
